Johnny Roger's Bbq & Burgers Barbecue restaurant

Overview

Johnny Roger's BBQ & Burgers in Concord, NC, stands out as a true gem for anyone craving mouthwatering BBQ and juicy burgers. Located at 3709 Concord Pkwy S, Concord, NC 28027, this spot brings a delightful fusion of bold flavors and Southern charm. Whether you're a BBQ enthusiast or a burger aficionado, Johnny Roger's has something for everyone, and the atmosphere is just as inviting as the food.

The restaurant’s interior offers a relaxed, no-frills vibe, with friendly service that makes you feel right at home. Upon walking in, you're greeted by the aroma of freshly smoked meats, which immediately heightens the anticipation. The menu features a variety of BBQ options, from tender pulled pork to smoky brisket, all cooked low and slow to perfection. Their burgers are no less impressive-each one is stacked high with fresh ingredients, served on a soft, perfectly toasted bun.

One of the standout items at Johnny Roger's BBQ & Burgers is the pulled pork sandwich. The meat is incredibly tender, with just the right amount of smoky flavor. It's served with a tangy, homemade BBQ sauce that complements the richness of the pork without overpowering it. Pair it with their crispy, golden fries, and you have the perfect comfort meal. For those who want to try something a little different, the smoked brisket is also a must-try. With its melt-in-your-mouth texture and deep, smoky flavor, it's clear that a lot of care goes into the preparation.

If you're more of a burger person, the "Johnny Roger's Burger" is an absolute favorite. Packed with a perfectly seasoned beef patty, fresh lettuce, tomato, and pickles, it’s simple yet satisfying. What sets this burger apart is the generous portion of cheddar cheese melted to perfection and the option to add smoky bacon for an extra kick. The balance of flavors and textures makes it a burger you won't forget.

Another fan favorite is the "BBQ Chicken Sandwich," which features a grilled chicken breast smothered in BBQ sauce and topped with melted cheese. This is a great option for those looking for something lighter but still full of flavor. The chicken is grilled to perfection-tender, juicy, and smoky all at once.

The sides at Johnny Roger's are just as impressive as the main dishes. The mac and cheese is creamy and comforting, with a nice crispy top that adds a bit of texture. The baked beans are sweet and savory, with just the right amount of smokiness, and the coleslaw provides a refreshing crunch to balance out the richness of the meats.

What makes Johnny Roger's BBQ & Burgers even more appealing is its commitment to quality and consistency. Each dish is made from fresh, high-quality ingredients, ensuring that every meal is flavorful and satisfying. The food was so delicious. They have a large variety of different options including Banana Pudding and Apple Pie which both are a must try. The service was great! The young lady in the front was so patient and helpful. Definitely will come here again

This is really Really REALLY good barbecue. Tender, smokey, juicy and delicious. If not the best, certainly I can't remember eating better. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. I had the barbecue sandwich with baked beans. A to-go order is separated. Meat/sauce/bun/slaw. Excellent taste and attention to details.

Bumped into this place after making a delivery. As a trucker it’s nice to find places like this. The young girl who took my order was just so nice, polite and helpful. I was torn between the Wagyu and their famous burger. She recommended I go with the candied goat burger and I’m glad bc it was delicious. Will definitely save this place on my map so I can visit again

1st time visitors today. You order at the counter and pay. Then they bring the food to your table. I had the large BBQ plate. BBQ was delicious. I got baked beans and white coleslaw as sides, both excellent. They don't have hushpuppies, so I added a fry as an extra side. I enjoy something crunchy with my BBQ, hence, my inquire about hushpuppies. It did come with a slice of white bread, 2 raw onion rings and 2 sliced pickles. I liked the pickles. Years ago the Old Hickory House BBQ, see picture, on N Tryon in Charlotte added pickles to the plate. So, today, I got to reminisce. (The Old Hickory House also served a "to die for" Brunswick Stew... I found the recipe and plan on making some.) Back to lunch today. My wife got a BBQ sandwich and sweet potato fries. The BBQ and coleslaw were quite moist, so she gave up on eating it as a sandwich (it got soggy) and ate the remaining with a fork. She, too, enjoyed the food. We both got iced-tea. The tea was good. In today's cost, it will be about what I anticipated. We'll come again as they have other menu items we'd like to try. There were 3 firemen beside us, all eating a chicken wrap. Must have been good as they gobbled them up. I'd recommend.

Generous portions of great pulled pork, zesty baked beans, adequate coleslaw, and pork-heavy Brunswick Stew made for a welcome discovery after a long day. All four sauces were spicy change-of-pace delicious! The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Even other customers piped in on their sauce choices. We will return when we're in metro Charlotte again.

The service was awesome. Everyone is polite, makes sure you're assisted. The location is very clean and well decorated. The food is decent. Its not the best bbq iv ever had but if I'm in the area and want bbq, this is a good place to stop. I like the Fat Boys bbq sauce, little sweet with a little heat. I did not like the mac n cheese, just my preference. Onion rings though were amazing.

Always a friendly and knowledgeable staff! They have gluten free options. And will answer any questions you have to stay safe from gluten. I’m celiac and have never got sick eating here so far. The place is small on the inside that’s the only complaint. Great tasting sweet tea! Their menu is found on their website. Be aware that the fries are cooked in a shared fryer. I ordered the Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken Sandwich on a delicious gluten free bun! with a side of white slaw. I added a side of fries. Will definitely go back!
